Vanessa Barrington has been internationally recognised for her contributions as a book coach, workshop facilitator and speaker at Asia Pacific Writers and Translators Conference (Bangalore, India 2022). Locally she was recognised as a finalist in the 2023 Tweed Regional Business Awards for Excellence in Professional Services and has coached and guided many authors to birth their books successfully.
Vanessa is a creative entrepreneur, marketing and brand strategist, book coach, book editor and psychic medium with a lifelong love affair of shaping and sharing stories.
Nicknamed “The Book Doula, Vanessa is on a mission to heal the world through stories and rebalance an industry that favours everyone but the author!
Vanessa holds a Bachelor of Journalism with majors in creative writing, and contemporary media and has 20 years of experience spanning broadcast journalism, publishing, marketing, public relations, corporate communications, copywriting, brand strategy and change management. She has perfected the art of storytelling and crafting content for various industries and applications over this time.
Vanessa founded Healing House Publishing in 2023 - a boutique independent publisher dedicated to healing the world through story.
Prior to that Vanessa was the CEO of The Right Remark, a marketing and brand consultancy dedicated to helping brands communicate with purpose.
Vanessa is the founder of The Book Doula Program, a highly successful online course that teaches aspiring authors worldwide how to successfully write, publish and promote their first (or next!) book.
She is also the host of The Right Remark podcast where she talks all things marketing, creativity, spirituality and more.
Vanessa lives in Bundajalung Country (Northern NSW Australia) with her husband Nick and their two daughters, in total gratitude that she makes a living doing what she loves.
